While Apple is taking &lt;a href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-touch'&gt;multi-touch&lt;/a&gt; technology directly to "every day" consumers via the &lt;a href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPhone'&gt;iPhone&lt;/a&gt;, Microsoft is going direct to commercial with it's new &lt;a href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Surface'&gt;Surface&lt;/a&gt; product. In a recent eWeek &lt;a href='http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,2141362,00.asp'&gt;article&lt;/a&gt;, Microsoft is said to be waiting until the technology and pricing is "more mass-market-friendly". Considering that the iPhone sold around half a million units on its opening weekend of availability, I'd say that this technology is already "mass-market-friendly".&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Don't expect Microsoft to understand that. &lt;a href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Vista'&gt;Vista&lt;/a&gt; was released years ago under the name of Apple's OS X. Microsoft is always behind in the game when it comes to innovation. By the time Surface reaches John Q.
